Paul Freidel
I’m Paul Freidel, a photographer based in Northeast Oregon, where I live on a small ranch tucked into the Wallowa Mountains. My work is rooted in this place—its wide skies, hard weather, and the daily rhythm of life that unfolds between people, animals, and land. I specialize in capturing the natural beauty and rural heritage of the West with a focus on landscapes, ranch work, and the quiet, authentic moments that tell the real story. Whether I’m out chasing light across the prairie or documenting the action at a local rodeo, I aim to create images that feel honest and grounded. I’m a graduate of the University of Washington’s photography program and a member of the Professional Photographers of Oregon. I serve as the official photographer for Chief Joseph Days Rodeo and Mountain High Broncs and Bulls Rodeo. My images have been published in Western Horseman, Chronicle of the Horse, and other national outlets. In 2024, I was honored with both Best in Show and the People’s Choice Award at the Wallowa County Festival of the Arts. My archive includes hundreds of high-resolution images from around the region, available for editorial, commercial, or personal use—including art prints, gallery displays, or vacation rental decor. If you’re looking for something specific, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m always happy to help folks find what they need.
